When Mike and I first moved to Raleigh we, for lack of a better term, shopped around for a church to attend. When we were in our deciding process, we attending a Young Professionals gathering at The Summit Church. It was here that we met Megan. She became our first official friend in Raleigh! We had dinner once or twice soon after and we even watched her pooch for a weekend while she was out of town. After a few weeks however, we began settling into life in Raleigh and joined different small groups (as we attend different campuses at The Summit). We were still Facebook friends and followed each other on Instagram though, and I’m so glad we did! When Megan became engaged to Wesley, she asked if we would be available to capture their wedding and of course I couldn’t say no!

Mike and I met up with Megan, Wesley, and Wesley’s 10-year-old son, Digsby at Shelley Lake on a cold December afternoon but the sun was our friend and decided to come out to play along with us! Shelley Lake is where Megan and Wesley had their first date and it’s where he proposed! We even snapped some photos on the bench where he popped the question! As we walked around the lake, Mike and I bonded with Digsby over our dislike of Team Valor on Pokémon Go and got to know Wesley a bit. This little family were so relaxed and up for anything that it made the shoot so very easy!
